History
of NAPS, Inc.
It was in April 1997,
that the Credit Bureau of Bessemer, Alabama (incorporated in 1948),
sought to enhance its well-established credit reporting, mortgage
reporting and receivable collections businesses and decided to venture
into a new, but interconnected, business enterprise.
It seems that "experience,
knowledge, hard work and good old fashioned know how" were
the driving forces behind the decision to expand our forte into
the background screening industry. We already knew how to review,
decipher and report on consumer credit reports! We already knew
how to retrieve court documents for verification of bankruptcy filings
and civil litigation! We already knew how to verify employment records
for consumer mortgage reports! We also knew what local, state and
federal laws governed the Fair Credit Reporting Act industry! The
only thing we didn't know, was how easy it was going to be to transition
our current practices into a much needed and practical business
solution.
Hence, National Application
Processing & Screening was born. Since then, NAPS has performed
literally thousands of background checks within all 50 states and some foreign
countries. "Experience, knowledge, hard work and good old fashioned
know how". That is what we promise to you and to ourselves.
